What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small item of data, which a web server sends to your computer. In our case, when you log on our server looks up your membership number on our database and sends you a cookie containing that member number. That way our computer can detect, by the presence of the cookie that you have logged on. Without the cookie it would be virtually impossible to differentiate between logged-on members and casual visitors to the site. This is true of any membership-based site.

When you attempt to log in and get the following prompt at the top of the page:

This is the error message about cookies you will see:

Log-in Error

Your computer is not accepting cookies from our site

You may not be able to log in to your account until this is fixed. Please read the instructions below.

If you have some super-special computer configuration that is fooling our server, you may try to go to YOUR ACCOUNT page or HOME page anyway. Give it a try.

Cookies May Need To Be Enabled --> Enabling Cookies:

In order to log in to rubberchickencards.com, we must be able to store a temporary cookie on your computer; again this cookie does nothing but keep track of the fact that you are logged in.
If you are using a personal firewall like ZoneAlarm, this may be blocking cookies without your knowledge. You can try temporarily disabling Zone Alarm before logging in to see if that fixes this problem. We cannot help you configure your personal computer, so for additional help, visit the ZoneAlarm (or applicable firewall) website.
If you are not using a personal firewall, there may be a configuration problem with your browser. In general, you must allow cookies from rubberchickencards.com.

The following are some examples of steps to take with:

You may have added rubberchickencards .com to the "blocked cookie list." To delete it from there, choose Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Sites from the Internet Explorer menu. Look for rubberchickencards.com under managed sites. If it is present, remove it.

Make sure your browser is accepting cookies for this site. Choose Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Sites from the Internet Explorer menu. Under address of website, enter ?http://www.rubberchickencards.com" and select "Allow."

Set your security level to low. Choose Tools > Internet Options > Privacy from the Internet Explorer menu. Drag the lever down to "accept all cookies."

You will see a table of contents.

Click on Managing Cookies.  They will walk you through their process.

Additionally, Firefox has a number of attractive custom features that might be of interest to you.

Finally, you can try a different browser. We recommend Firefox.

For MS Explorer:

Be sure your Internet browser is set to the Rubber Chicken website.

Click on the menu item “Tools”

Click on the last menu item (at the bottom) called, “Internet Options”

A box labeled “Internet Options” will open. Go to the "Privacy" tab

Click the "Edit" or the “Sites” button near the bottom of the box.

A new box labeled “Per Site Privacy Actions” will open.

In the field that reads "Address of Web site:" - please enter

Then click on the “Allow” button once.

You should now see
"http://www.rubberchickencards.com" listed under "Managed Web sites" with its Setting shown as "Always Allow". Be certain that the setting is not “Block” or “Do not Allow” Setting should read “Always Allow”.

Please be certain it says “Always Allow” not “Block” or “Do Not Allow”.
Click "OK" at the bottom right of the box.

Then click "OK" on the “Privacy” tab of the previous box to save your changes.

If the actions listed above have not solved the problem:
I’ve tried everything else – What can I do?

The following actions should be investigated to attempt to solve the problem if the actions listed above have not solved the problem.

Cache may need to be cleaned
It is always a good idea to clean your cache (temporary Internet files on your computer) and sometimes a full cache can prevent you from logging on to the site or entering your recipient’s email addresses.

Please Read The Following:

Cleaning the Cache in MS Internet Explorer:

At the top of your browser click on the menu item “Tools”

Click on the last selection listed, “Internet Options”

A box will open. It should open to the tab marked “General”.

In the second section of the box titled, “Temporary Internet  Files”, click on the “Delete Cookies” button. Let the files clean.  Then go just next to the “Delete Cookies” button and click on “Delete Files.”

Deleting the files may take a few minutes depending on how many there are and how long it has been since they were last deleted. They are finished being deleted when your mouse cursor turns from an hour glass icon back into an arrow icon.

If you are not using Explorer go to the search section of your browser and enter “clean cache.”

When your temporary Internet files have been deleted, click on “OK” at the bottom of the box.

If you are not using Explorer go to the search section of your browser and enter “clean cache.”
