 Memorial Day

In Memorium

Memorial Day ecards: What exactly do we remember on Memorial Day? Originally this day was created to commemorate, remember, and honor all those who have given their lives for our country, either during war or in service to the nation in some other way. This is the ultimate sacrifice, and we as a people recognize that and honor it.

The War between the States

The first Memorial Day was to commemorate all of the fallen in the American Civil War. At that time it was called Decoration Day. In the mid 20th Century the day evolved to include the fallen in all wars - and indeed, since then, there have been way too many to count.

Decoration Day

Because so many, many died in the Civil War, some 600,000 plus, the women who served decorated the graves of their fallen men, Hence the name "Decoration Day."

Family Decoration Days

There are still Decoration Days with families, individual families, usually in the deeper south. People get together and pay their respects to their ancestors who fought in the civil war. And though there is a solemn experience to it, the gatherings are said to be fun and interesting.

The Rubbber Chicken Card experience.

Our line-up of characters is sure to please almost everyone (by golly, we can't really please everyone, you, know). They blend the solemnity of this holiday with their own humor and guilelessness for a truly memorable rubber chicken experience. Remember those who have died for us in a divine way with our "God" Memorial Day Ecard. Or, get a foreign look at the holiday through the eyes of Guptah.

Send Something That Touches People with Humor

An ecard will prompt any recipient to take a few minutes out of their day to think about the many, many men and women who have sacrificed their lives for us, and those that continue to do so today. This year, you can spread the love and the honor with more than mums at a graveside. Whatever you do, share, and have a great time memorializing and appreciating all the lives that have gone into the cause of securing freedom and liberty for this country!
